Colorado State Requirements

Producers must complete 24 credit hours each license period with a minimum 3 credit hours of ethics. Property/Casualty & Personal Lines Producers are required to complete 3 hours of Homeowners Insurance CE. Licensees must take at least 18 hours in lines of authority held. If multi-lines licensed, any course is allowed. Excess Ethics and Homeowners hours will not count towards the 18-hour license specific CE requirement.

Repeats: Courses may not be repeated within 24 months of the original course completion date.

Carryover: A maximum of 12 hours may be carried over to the next renewal period as long as they were completed with 120 days prior to the compliance deadline. Excess Ethics carry over as General credit.

Specific topics are required if selling these products:

• Long Term Care (5 credit hours): Ongoing training must be completed every 24-month period following the completion of the initial 16-hour training and every 24-months thereafter.
• Annuity Best Interest: Initial training required. No ongoing CE required.
• Flood: Initial training required. No ongoing CE required.
