Ohio State Requirements

Producers must complete 24 credit hours each license period with a minimum 3 credit hours of ethics. Producers may take any general credit course regardless of their line of authority. 

Repeats: Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.

Carryover: A maximum of 12 excess CE hours may be carried over to the next 2-year license term. All carryover credits are applied as general credits and therefore agents will continue to need to meet the ethics requirement.

Specific topics are required if selling these products:

• Long Term Care: After completing the initial 8-hour training requirement, producers must complete 4 hours of state-approved LTC training in every 2-year license term.

• Annuity Best Interest: Initial training required. No ongoing CE required.
• Flood: Initial training required. No ongoing CE required.
